Founder & Owner
Kunti Patel
Kunti Patel, a Temple University alum, is the founder of BrowsbyKunti LLC—an at-home eyebrow and eyelash salon in Philadelphia—and LEELO Skin & Hair, a planet-forward, nontoxic beauty brand. She also launched the RECOVERY Initiative, featured by 6abc News and The Temple News, which supports nonprofits globally through free eyebrow threading sessions where all tips are donated. I am proud to state that this community has raised over $2,100 across over 19 nonprofit organizations through the RECOVERY Initiative.
Her latest effort, the Support Local Businesses blog, highlights fellow entrepreneurs and their “why,” creating space to uplift and celebrate the stories behind local brands.
“What difference can I alone make? said 8 billion people.”
The Story Behind This Community:
BrowsbyKunti: Founded in 2017 during Kunti’s freshman year at Temple University, BrowsbyKunti began when she was a Biochemistry major juggling a full course load. After learning brow threading in India, she started offering $5 home visits between classes—an alternative to a traditional part-time job. Over time, her services expanded, prices adjusted, and clients began coming to her, laying the foundation for what is now a trusted salon experience.
LEELO Skin & Hair: "Leelo" means green in Gujarati, a nod to Kunti’s roots in Gujarat, India. The brand was created to reflect values of vibrance, sustainability, and wellness. LEELO offers clean, nontoxic, and planet-forward skincare and haircare made with ingredients you can trust—without luxury markups. Kunti’s vision is to make high-quality, affordable products that nourish both you and the planet.
The RECOVERY Initiative: Launched in 2021 during the height of the pandemic, the #RECOVERY Initiative was Kunti’s way of giving back while staying off the front lines. Through free brow threading sessions where all tips are donated, the initiative raises awareness and funds for nonprofit organizations. It’s rooted in the belief that community care—mental, physical, and financial—is essential. To date, RECOVERY has raised over $2,100 across 19 nonprofits. Proof that small acts, done with intention, can make a powerful difference.
“Those who have the ability to take action have the responsibility to take action”
This belief has shaped my purpose from a young age—especially now, in a time when many have accepted that “we can’t solve everything.” Maybe not. But we can contribute in small, consistent ways. We can keep showing up, keep growing, and never stop working to better ourselves, our communities, and the ecosystems around us.
